Final score Cathkin Braes 5.5 Haggs Castle 0.5  Thanks to Allan Kerr for his match report

Pollok v Fereneze

Match played on Monday 14th June. On a wonderful sunny evening Pollok secured a victory over Fereneze which was closer than the margin suggests as 4 games ended up being settled on the 18th. Patrick O’Neil of Pollok continued his unbeaten run with a 7 & 5 victory. Neil Johnston of Pollok playing further up the pecking order than usual at number 3 recorded his first win of the season 6 & 5. Pollok’s back 3 players who had in the main only had reserve experience did well to claim 2 1/2 points which provided good experience for next year. David Stein of Fereneze had a good win on the 18th. All games were played in good spirit with both teams looking forward to next year’s encounter. Final score Pollok 4.5 Fereneze 1.5 Thanks to Brian Johnston for his match report

Eastwood v Cathcart Castle

Match played Monday 14th June. Eastwood invited Cathcart Castle to play in their second last team match of the season and yet again the sun was splitting the sky. On paper again Cathcart looked the stronger team with all but reserves in single figures. Through 9 holes it was a different story. Eastwood up pretty comfortably in 5 matches with only Gregor Falconer 5 up at the turn for Cathcart. When we met up with the players going through 12 & 13 the story was very different and with Kyle Young of Eastwood loosing his last 3 holes this game was now back level and he would go on to loose at the 16th 3/2. Scott Ross who fought a close game all round managed to loose from being 2up at the turn, Cammy Young had Eastwood’s most convincing win beating Dane McLean 7/6. Ross Mcginness managed to win his game 2/1 but Ross made it hard for himself having been 4up through 14. Mark Macmillan and Jack Brown had an excellent match all the way round to 17 where Mark Macmillan managed to win 2/1 give both teams a well deserved half. Final score Eastwood 3 Cathcart Castle 3. Thanks to Ian Adams for his match report

Whitecraigs v East Renfrewshire

Match played on Friday 11th June. On a sunny but windy evening  Whitecraigs secured a victory over East Ren with wins for Euan Waugh, Ross McSherry, Martin McKenna and Mathew Cousins. East Renfrewshire victories came from Andrew Jeffrey & Douglas MacLeod. The golf course was in superbe condition and helped to ensure a very high standard of golf was played by both teams. Final score Whitecraigs 4 East Renfrewshire 2. Thanks to Russell Low for his match report.

Fereneze v Williamwood

Match played Friday 11th June. A sound  performance from Williamwood who thoroughly deserved their away win. The weather conditions were dry with a blustery and cold  wind blowing. All games were played in friendly spirits. Match one between Fereneze’s Sean Duignan and Williamwood’s Stuart Campbell being a real “nip and tuck” match, finally ending all square. Final score Fereneze 0.5 Williamwood 5.5 Thanks to Alan Johnston for the match report.

Eastwood v Cathkin Braes

Match played on Monday 7th June. Eastwood was surprisingly a sunny evening with very little wind when Cathkin came to play. On paper Cathkin looked much stronger however as we all know golf isn’t played on paper and the boys got down to playing some excellent golf. Eastwood had home advantage however with our boys not used to the calm conditions who knows what was going to happen. Scott Ross had a fantastic early result beating Ross Mcleish 7/6 however Cathkin came right back at Eastwood with Ross Mcginnes also being beaten 7/5. All other games went right to the wire, Mark Macmillan taking Fraser Mcneil all the way to the 17th to win 2/1, but Eastwood only manged another half point from Cammy Young  in game number 6. Despite the midges biting the final score was Eastwood 2.5 Cathkin Braes 3.5 . Thanks to Ian Adams for his match report.

Eastwood v Cowglen

Match played on Friday 4th June. Eastwood welcomed Cowglen to play what was a close match for the majority of the games. Mark Macmillan played extremly well but was just narrowly beaten 3/2 by Callum Maclean but both players agreed a very good match for spectators. Scott Campbell (Junior Captain) also played very well to beat 3 handicapper Stevie Machin making the early scores 1 -1. Eastwoods No 5 & 6 (Ross Mcginness & Sylvester Sweeny) losing before the 15th and the pressure was on Fraser Grossart and Scott Ross to get some points on the board. With Eastwood’s Scott Ross standing on 17th tee 2 down it wasn’t looking promising but a great display of golf saw Scott walk away with half a point and Fraser Grossart managing the same, however it was not enough to win. Well done to all the players. Final score Eastwood 2 Cowglen 4. Thanks to Ian Adams for the match report.
